Hi I’m Mimu Shoji and am mainly handling inheritance, wills, real estate registration and summary court related matters at our joint office as a judicial scrivener. What is the judicial scrivener?
A judicial scrivener is a Japanese nationally qualified professional who is mainly responsible for registration work. They mainly handle legal matters such as real estate registration, commercial registration related to companies, inheritance, writing wills, and guardianship. If we had to say, certified judicial scriveners among judicial scriveners can handle lawsuits in summary courts, so they could be said to be similar to solicitors in the UK. However, it is likely that solicitors in the UK are involved in a larger proportion of court practice.
The following services are available:
- You will be assisted by a female judicial scrivener.
- Consultations are free of charge (30 minutes).
- Consultations can be conducted over the phone, in person at our office, online, or on-site.
- Night consultations (from 6 p.m.) and consultations on weekends are also available (please make a reservation via the inquiry form or by phone).
- English is available.

Workflow from inquiry to completion of work
Once we receive your request, we will generally carry out the work in the following order (this may vary slightly depending on the work). Please refer to the individual work pages for details.
After consultation and quotation, if the request is not reached, we will not begin the work (if any materials have been provided, they will be returned promptly).
