On August 26, the Immigration Services Agency of Japan has just announced that it has begun making adjustments to tighten the requirements for obtaining the “Business Manager Visa” status for foreign business owners.
The government is considering raising the capital requirement for a company to obtain a “Business Manager Visa” from the current “over 5 million yen” to six times that amount, “over 30 million yen.” This will bring the requirement up to the same level as other countries.
The Immigration Services Agency of Japan will solicit public comments, taking into account the opinions of experts, with the aim of enacting the law in the middle of October.
If you are a foreign national and are thinking of establishing a company and obtaining a business manager visa, please pay close attention to the revisions.
